When deciding what to establish as a proclamation for Reign 34, we realized that ERSICSS can help so many other organizations, but we are were not able to help our own members. In particular, there was a member at the beginning of our reign that could have truly benefitted from this fund and we were unable to do so. We wanted a proclamation that would leave a legacy for the organization and our community.
After much brainstorming and input from a few close to our reign, we came up with our proclamation; however, what would we name it? There was one individual that has been instrumental in not only our reign but many others and is responsible for much of the artwork that goes into our coronation programs and show posters. Aside from this, he has a heart of gold and is an inspiration to all of us.
The Jonathan Smith Emergency Fund (“JSEF”) was established by proclamation of Emperor and Empress 34, Michael G. Clayton and Martinique Bouvier. JSEF’s purpose is to provide financial assistance to members of the Houston Community in times of emergent financial need regardless of race, religion, national origin, age, gender or sexual orientation.
